Early History

In 1998, a group of families came together in a home in Standerton to discuss a common desire to establish a school based purely on Christian ethics and principles. Fortunately, there was a school curriculum available from a company in Durban, KZN.

A decision was made to establish an independent private school in Standerton, based on the School of Tomorrow’s Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum and so, Standerton Christian School was born. The school was registered and launched in January 1989, on a farm 10 km outside Standerton with 11 children and 3 staff members.

Recent History

After a few years, it became clear that the school needed to move to town for various reasons and the decision was taken to move into Standerton. Initially, the school was housed in unused classroom at a local primary school.

Through the subsequent years, pupil and staff numbers increase and finally, in ???? the school moved into its own premises in Waterkloof street in Stanfield Hill, where it is still operating from today. At the time, the name was changed to Cosmos Private Academy.
